Once clear of the compound the flamingos first stopped to ask directions for the way back to Tanzania before realizing no one in Kansas had ever heard of the place.
Since they were birds, they hatched a new plan. They decided to fly south to Texas, because Texas is warmer and besides, it’s too far to walk. Pretty smart for a couple of birdbrains. I don’t think Canada would Kebun Binatang Jogja be a very forgiving climate for a long, thin-legged animal that stands out like a sore thumb and would make a quick lunch for a polar bear.
Being flamingos they decided to get a leg up on the authorities by splitting up once they exited the zoo. Their distinctive pink color and long legs however made it difficult for the birds to go unnoticed especially among all the turkey buzzards and crows inundating Kansas.
